2004 Annual General Meeting

The MFT annual general meeting took place at Rede Hall Farm on Saturday 16th October.

Sam's Presentation As well as providing an opportunity to show off the workshop and explain the finances and running of the business side of MFT, the AGM also gave the farmworkers the primetime to explain  work they had individually undertaken during the year.  Each demonstrated their enthusiasm for the tasks that they have learnt and enjoyed and Sam also brought along a Celeriac to demonstrate his knowledge and achievement in growing the crop and also to educate the audience!

MFT had just taken on the lease of the workshop so before the tools arrived and the workbenches were installed we  decided to hold the AGM at the workshop.

The building will provide both a dry store for equipment and allow work to continue during poorer weather.  This affords MFT a great opportunity to build its business and thereby support more farmworkers in future.  As well as grants the main priority for the future is support and fundraising! Telling everyone about MFT and the benefits that it provides is important.  Your help and support with this is much appreciated and we look forward to the continued support of our friends and supporters in the year ahead. Buying potatoes and other produce also helps MFT.

Celebrity stars Johnathan Whitlam and Stephen Richmond (of Second Sight Videos) joined MFT on this momentous day. They gave a lively talk about their adventures in tractor spotting — initially a hobby which has become a professional commitment in producing videos on tractors and farm machinery. They kindly donated four interesting videos to MFT — these will be circulated amongst the farmworkers to watch at home and then retained by MFT to use as training materials.
