It is with great sadness that we report the sudden loss of our friend
and colleague, Mr Arthur Pearl.
Arthur joined the Millennium Farm
Trust in early 2004 as volunteer car driver
after listening to a BBC Radio Suffolk programme featuring the work
of the Trust.
Arthur took a great interest in the activities of MFT and
became good friends with the farmworkers and support staff, sharing
news and views on growing vegetables, countryside matters and current
affairs. Arthur and his wife Beryl also supported the farmworkers and
MFT at other events including a pub quiz, a farm walk with FWAG and
helping to host an Open Day. Arthur used to work for Scania and his
knowledge of lorries and transport was a shared interest with one of
the farmworkers. Arthur would always help out with other
journeys/events if no other transport available.
Arthur passed away quite suddenly on Friday 5 September 2008.
His positive attitude, his caring nature and his total commitment
to his work in affording the farmworkers
every opportunity to use their skills, to increase
their knowledge and to share their
achievements with the public, will be missed by everyone at MFT.
